What TXT to PDF does

TXT to PDF typesets a plain-text file into a paginated PDF, wrapping lines to the page width and choosing your page and text size.

Plain text has no pages, no margins and no layout — which is why emailing someone a .txt file, or printing one, tends to look like an accident. Turning it into a PDF gives it a fixed shape that looks the same everywhere.

Your text is wrapped to the page width, split across as many pages as it needs, and set in a standard document font. Long unbroken strings — a URL, a hash, a stack trace — are broken rather than allowed to run off the edge of the page.

How to use TXT to PDF

   Upload a text file

   Drop in a .txt, .md, .log or .csv file. A preview of the content appears.

   Choose page and text size

   Pick A4 or Letter, and 9, 11 or 13 point text depending on how much you need per page.

   Convert and download

   Click Convert to PDF. The typeset document downloads and the tool reports how many pages it made.

TXT to PDF: details and limits

• Text is typeset literally. Markdown is not rendered into headings and CSV is not drawn as a table — you get exactly the characters in the file, which is usually the point for logs and notes.

• The built-in PDF font covers Western European text and common typographic characters — the euro sign, curly quotes, dashes, ellipses and bullets all render exactly as typed. Emoji, non-Latin scripts — Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Cyrillic, Hebrew and others — and symbols outside that set, such as box-drawing characters and arrows in log files, cannot be represented and become "?". The tool counts them and tells you rather than silently mangling your text.

• Very long words and unbroken strings are hard-broken at the margin so nothing is lost off the edge of the page.
