What Crop PDF does
Crop PDF trims the visible area of PDF pages by setting a new crop box, either applying one crop to every page or cropping each page individually.
Cropping is mostly used to reclaim margins — scanned pages with huge white borders, documents scanned at the wrong paper size, or slide handouts surrounded by empty space. Trimming them makes the content bigger on screen and on paper.
You drag a rectangle over a live preview of the page and the area outside it dims, so you can see the result before committing. Choose a single crop for the whole document, or crop each page separately when your scans are inconsistent.
How to use Crop PDF
Upload the PDF
Drop in your file. The first page renders as a preview with a crop rectangle over it.
Drag the crop area
Move the rectangle or drag its handles. Everything outside it dims to show what will be trimmed.
Choose one crop or per-page
Apply the same crop to every page, or switch to cropping each page individually for inconsistent scans.
Apply and download
Click Apply to download the cropped PDF.
Crop PDF: details and limits
Cropping a PDF hides content — it does not delete it. A crop sets the page's visible window; the material outside it is still inside the file and can be brought back by anyone who resets the crop box. This is how PDFs work, not a shortcut we took.
That means cropping is NOT a way to redact. If you are cropping to hide sensitive information before sharing, crop first and then run the file through Flatten PDF in "Everything to images" mode, which re-draws each page and genuinely discards what is outside it.
Nothing is re-compressed, so a normal crop is lossless and text stays selectable.
Per-page mode is worth the extra effort when pages were scanned at slightly different offsets — a single crop would clip some and under-trim others.

Cropping a PDF does not remove anything
A crop hides content, it does not delete it. If you cropped something sensitive out before sharing, it is still in the file.
